In India, Sports Ministry of
India is governing body for the polices and distribution of sports awards in different
sports field such as; athletics, squash, chess, football, tennis, golf, boxing,
cricket and more. There are many private organizations as well as government
organizations in India and foreign who award the best players with best sports awards to enhance and keep
up the player's spirit and motivation level. In India whenever it comes to
distribute the yearly latest sports
awards such as; Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, Arjuna Award, Dronacharya

the highest sporting honor as it given to the best sportsperson in the sport

for the best sportsperson in each sport and this award named after the Arjuna,
who the famous archer of Mahabharata was whereas; Dronacharya Award is only for
sports coaches and due to that it named after Dronacharya, who was Guru of Arjuna.
When it comes to reward the sports person for their lifetime achievement in the
field of sports and games, so for those Dhyan Chand Award is their which named
after the Indian legendary hockey star Dhyan Chand (He won three Olympic gold
medals for the Indian hockey team in the year, 1928, 1932 and 1936 and later
awarded by Padma Bhushan in 1956). Apart from these the other best sports awards in India are; Maulana
Abul Kalam Azad (MAKA) Award, The Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar and Tenzing
Norgay Adventure Award.
